Welcome to the Lewes FC Juniors 2024 Tournament website!

Joining Instructions for those attending the tournament

1. Tournament Location

The tournament is located at The Stanley Turner Ground, which is the home of Lewes Rugby Club. Our tournament location is as follows (map for parking below):

The Stanley Turner Ground, Kingston Road, Lewes, BN7 3NB

  • Please check the postcode carefully in advance of your journey.

2. Car Parking

There will be signs for car parking. The car park itself will be in a large field located beside the tournament site. The car park is on the Kingston Road, and the entrance is on a sharp bend opposite where Spring Barn Farm used to be. Please see the map below showing the precise location.

If you are approaching from Newhaven, the entrance to the car park will be signposted on the right-hand side of the road, just before the bend in the road where Spring Barn Farm used to be.

If you are approaching from Lewes, you will drive past The Swan pub and the Rugby Club and then out of Lewes towards Falmer and Newhaven.  The car park will be on the left-hand side on the sharp bend, just before the entrance to Spring Barn Farm used to be.

The charge for the car park is £5.00 per car.  We would appreciate payment by card, but please also have £5.00 ready in cash in case of IT issues.

3. Payments & Refunds

Whilst we will accept cash at the tournament, we will be cashless as far as possible, so please do bring a suitable debit/credit card.

Registered teams who cancel before 1st July will be issued a refund of their entry fee. Cancellations on or after 1st July will not recieve a refund as we are not able to find replacement teams so close to the tournament date.

4. Health and Safety

Please note that there is a small river that runs adjacent to the tournament site. Appropriate measures will be in place, but it is incumbent on all families, managers and tournament staff to prioritise health and safety as well as fun and enjoyment on the big day so that we all reduce risk for the children. We will have a First Aid point but we ask that Coaches have their own First Aid kits available.

5. Shade

Not all pitches benefit from natural shade so you are welcome to bring a gazebo or similar if the weather is hot. Please make sure everyone in your party brings hats, sunscreen and plenty of water.  There is a drinking water tap available for refill on the side of the Club house.

6. Respect

We would like to draw your attention to the FA’s Respect Campaign. Details can be found at http://www.thefa.com/get-involved/respect

Please ensure that your coaches, squad and parents adhere to this code of conduct.

9. Team Sheets and Tournament Registration

Please fill out the team sheets on Torneopal with players details. At the top left of the home page are 3 horizontal lines, click here and scroll down to 'log in.'  You can log in with your team code (there is an option to have it re-sent to you) and then click on the players tab to register players. Please do not bring any players who are also Academy players as the team will be disqualified on the day.

10. Contact Details and WhatsApp messaging

We will be setting up WhatsApp groups for each age group and will be communicating the programme, match results and any other important messages via that method before and on the day. We will be using the mobile phone numbers as supplied on your registration entry. Please make sure you bring those phones and that they are fully charged!
